I’ve offered to help my wife out with her blog today so she can concentrate on getting some much needed projects finished.
It’s that time of year again, where the days are characterized by mad dashes to stores filled with pushy parents to pick up last-minute gifts, being one of a million cars on the road trying to get out of town before the mad exodus, and “The Twelve Days of Christmas” is set to play on infinite loop on the radio. As fun as all of these things are, they often distract us from remembering to keep on keeping on. We get so wrapped up in the holidays and vacations that we often overlook the really important things.
So, as a public service, I’m here to remind you to breathe. Sit back and try not to let all the joy and yuletide greetings get you down. Have a nice chat with your significant other over a bowl of popcorn. Watch Star Wars (the real first one… not the one with Jar Jar Binks) with your kids. And, for goodness sake, relax! There’s no need to drive like Mad Max, or turn a routine shopping trip to Target into a gladiatorial blood rage. Remain calm, and have a great weekend.
