Links We Love… Google Plus edition!

First off, are you on Google Plus yet? If you aren’t, it is time to join up- there is a lot of really interesting things there. Anyways, I have been having a lot of fun on Google Plus and I think you would too :-)

I have a love hate relationship with the holidays. I love decorating with pretty shiny things, planning and giving gifts, spending time with family and friends, I even like holiday parties. I don’t like going shopping so much. I can feel the tension in the room rise as my fellow shoppers become increasingly desperate. I try not to judge, I am stressed as well– it is a lot of pressure to celebrate the holidays, it costs money and time and thought. So my solution is to just avoid the stores as much as possible. One great way to do this is to make my own Christmas supplies. Here are a few of my favorite ideas.

Lovely Crafty Home has a great tutorial on making handmade Christmas tree ornaments from book pages.

Giving Christmas gifts in a jar is very trendy right now, and Texas Cottage has a great summary of options. It is a great idea for those times in your life when you can only think of a few small gifts to give someone, not to mention food is an awesome gift for those people who have everything.

221 Vision has an awesome tutorial creating glass etched Christmas ornaments. The results are visually striking, and simple glass ornaments are one of my favorite decorator items.
