Reupholstery Dreaming

ugly chairI thought that today I would share one of my dreams with you, you see I have this chair… It is a very pretty chair, ok not really, but I see the potential. This chair is a hand-me-down from my grandparents, it is also the first piece of furniture that I had when I first moved out on my own. Picture it, an entire apartment with one ugly chair and a TV and nothing else in it. I have been through a lot with this chair.

I know that this chair has seen better days, but I am pretty determined to salvage it. I have checked with local reupholstery services but that appears to not be a simple or frugal option. In my area upholstery services start at $500 and go up from there. That is just not going to fit in the budget any time soon, besides why pay someone else to do something when I can DIY a solution?

For now, I have the chair covered in upholstery fabric this at least protects guests from the

potential shock of that ugly ugly chair. Down the line though I have big plans for an improved, and reupholstered chair.  One day…
